EDIMS has organized a virtual team of over 350 board certified
ED physicians, RNs, pharmacists, medical malpractice attorneys,
risk management professionals, medical malpractice insurance
representatives to develop and review all EDIMS templates, order sets,
“macros,” and “pearls.”

within the health care arena. Our collective knowledgebase allows
us to effectively address emergency department clinical operations,
financial operations, performance improvement, risk reduction and
technology requirements for both the present, and well into the future.
Our Management Team encompasses physician thought-leaders in the
fields of clinical information systems, clinical research, risk
reduction, EMS, evidence-based medicine, in addition to industry

Bernard Lang

Bernard Lang is a seasoned management professional with over 25 years of experience in Health Care, Financial Services, Human Resources and Information Technology, where he managed large scale application systems and implemented complex business reengineering solutions. Since joining EDIMS, he led all Product Management initiatives and chaired the EDIMS Clinical Advisory Team, Change Control Board, and key senior management activities. As SVP of Operations, Bernard provides overall leadership to the organization by executing and delivering reliable quality, exemplary service, and best in breed product features to our customers. Prior to joining EDIMS, Mr. Lang worked on a variety of high profile management initiatives for Polo Ralph Lauren, L’Oréal, JP Morgan, Bank of America and Credit Suisse.
Chief Medical Officer
John Fontanetta, MD, FACEP
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Fontanetta is an expert in efficient ED operations/process design, physician productivity,
ED incentive plan development, EDIS interface design and deployment, and the use of EDISs and
information management applications in transforming the work performed in unscheduled healthcare
environments. He has nearly 20 years of clinical and management experience in Emergency Medicine
and currently serves as the Chairman of Emergency Medicine at Clara Maass Medical Center in
Belleville, New Jersey, which sees 54,000 visits/year. He has been heavily involved in development
of the EDIMS and WEBeMARS products offered by EDIMS. Dr. Fontanetta is also a Diplomat of
the American Board of Emergency Medicine and Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine
(Subspecialty of Pulmonary Medicine).
He received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York, New York
and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and fellowship in Pulmonary / Critical Care Medicine at Albert
Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx Municipal Hospital Center, Bronx, New York.

Edward Gersh

Mr. Gersh is a results oriented professional with over 25 years of progressive experience in financial services and healthcare, specializing in finance, project management, operations, sales practices and investment/wealth management. His background and competencies include process and operational efficiencies, financial modeling, business planning, product and application design, technology enablement, marketing segmentation and international business. His work has resulted in the delivery of optimization initiatives for a variety of companies, including Citigroup, JP Morgan, Credit Suisse and affiliates of EMA. In addition, Mr. Gersh was a division CFO for First Data Merchant Services with annual sales of over $11 Billion and was responsible for implementing and negotiated cross-border/globalization practices for American Express UK and SwissRe in Zurich.

Elaine Barry, RN, MSN, APN-C, CCRN, CEN, CPC-A
Vice President of Clinical Client Relations
Ms. Barry joined Alpha Physician Resources in 1988 as a consultant to develop the Clinical
Information Manager Program. This program provides charting scribes for Emergency Department
physicians. Elaine became a full-time member of the Alpha team in April 1999 as Director of
the Clinical Information Manager Program and has also been a client account manager for several
sites responsible for (i). ensuring contractual agreements for providing emergency department
physicians were met. (ii). providing on site support to hospital administration and Emergency
Department leadership including compliance with JCAHO, EMTALA and New York/New Jersey State regulations.
Currently Ms. Barry serves as the Director of IT Clinical Client relations for EDIMS.
Elaine is responsible for directing clinical policy and compliance initiatives as well as
efforts to maximize the adoption of EDIMS software in the ED environment. Elaine has a clinical
operations background, with experience in ED process optimization, and extensive domain
knowledge that will continue to strongly influence the evolution of our EDIMS product.
Prior to joining Alpha, EMA and EDIMS, Ms. Barry worked as a Registered Nurse. She has an
extensive 25 years of clinical experience including pediatrics, critical care, medical surgical,
emergency department and 18 years as a mobile intensive care nurse and was certified as a National
Registry paramedic while working in the pre-hospital setting. Elaine maintains her clinical skills
as an Advanced Practice nurse in the Emergency Department at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville New Jersey.
Ms. Barry earned a Bachelors degree in Nursing from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey.
A Masters degree in Nursing Administration from Seton Hall and a post Master's degree as a Family
Nurse Practitioner from Rutgers University, Newark, NJ. Elaine's clinical excellence has been
recognized several times over her career including being the 1999 recipient of Somerset Medical
Center's Nurse of the year award.
Director of Technology
AJ Sultan
Director of Technology
Mr. Sultan brings 16 years of IT experience in legal services, technology, finance and healthcare industries.
As Director of Technology, Sultan is responsible for planning, designing and directing data and
telecommunication infrastructure services at EDIMS, and providing guidance for client sites.
Before joining EDIMS, Sultan was director of network operations at Alexander Gallo Holdings
LLC (AGH) after the Atlanta-based court reporting and litigation support services company acquired
The Hobart West Group Inc., where he was director of information technology. After the acquisition,
Sultan integrated IT personnel from multiple companies AGH had acquired into one technology unit and
oversaw network, server, telecommunication and data center services.

manager at Avanti of New York Inc., Smithtown, N.Y.; and network administrator at Doctors Offcenters Inc., Hauppauge, NY
